Jörg Tiit from Team Serpent brings us his report from the second round of the Estonian Offroad Nationals Round 2 held at Luige Racetrack on 2 June:

In the first practice the track was a bit wet but drivable. My car felt okay in practice – the grip was the best possible and it jumped well. We had only one round of practice, because of the tightened schedule, but it was enough.
The first qualifier was pretty okay for me, the car still felt good, but somehow the track was getting bumpier. I managed to make a mistake and screw up my TQ run, so I finished second in the first round. For the second qualifier, we changed to a softer anti-roll bar in the rear to make the car a little bit smoother in the holes. It helped, but the weather was changed and the engine didn’t work well. Again second in the round. For the third round, we used a softer spring and cut the outer town of pins off the tyres to make the car even smoother on the bumpy track. This helped again, but I made mistakes. The car felt good though and we hoped that the final will be interesting.
The final was 30-minutes long and i started in second spot. Jonas Nahkor on pole and I had a clean start – we were much faster and soon we were on our own. We raced until the first pitstop. After that, Jonas made a mistake that gave me a 15-second lead. I slowed down my tempo not to make mistakes, but that was one big mistake. Jonas set some fast laps, and caught me up. We raced again for about ten minutes. When we came in for the last stop, I made mistake afterwards that gave Jonas a pretty good lead. With about three minutes to go, our gap was 2.5 seconds, Then Jonas made a big mistake in one jump section, so I managed to take the lead and I brought it home to take the win. The car felt really good on that bumpy track and was pretty fast. Everything was good for us on that day and our next race with the buggy is the European Championships in Reims.
