Serpent-Podium-at-MendipRound three of the BRCA 1:8 On-Road National series was held last weekend at the Mendip Raceway in the South West of England. Saturday practice day was cool but dry, and around 40 drivers took advantage of the conditions. This was the first good testing day in 2015 in the UK! The current championship leader Andrew Hastings set the early pace with Andrew North running similar lap times. The Serpent UK team were working on set-ups and sharing them with the other drivers. At the end of Saturday’s practice, the top ten drivers were only separated by a very small amount.
Mark Green once again dominated qualifying with his Novarossi-powered Serpent 977WC and was joined by three other 977WC drivers in the A final. One of those was Steve Scott who made his third A final this year.
In the A final Mark led from the start taking the win from Tim Wood’s OS-powered 977WC second and John Carr taking third with another OS-equipped Serpent. All of the top three cars were using Enneti tyres.
Tim is now preparing for the EFRA European B Championships in Italy at the end of May – good luck Tim.
Thanks to all at the Mendip Raceway for a good meeting, the next round will be at Halifax on 30-31 May.
