ko-gp-modified-winnerThe KO Grand Prix, incorporating the final race of the Schumacher BTCC Championship, took place at the West London Racing Centre last weekend. Well over 100 drivers took part in the three classes of modified, 13.5T boosted and 17.5T blinky over two days of tough competition with the UK top drivers, plus Schumacher’s young star Michal Orlowski from Poland. Unusually for West London, the weather stayed dry all weekend with beautiful sunshine on Sunday.
The modified class was dominated by Schumacher driver Elliott Harper taking a comfortable TQ with three TQ from the five rounds of qualifying. Lining up behind Elliott was Olly Jefferies and another Schumacher of Colin Price ahead of Chris Grainger. Elliott and Colin Price would have the advantage in the finals having saved 2 new sets of Sorex 32RY tyres from the 3 available.
Elliott took the wins in leg one and two to become KO GP Champion in 2015 with his Mi5evo being the class of the field this weekend. Olly Jefferies, Colin Price and Chris Grainger had similar pace but it was Olly who came out on top with Colin third overall.
schumacher-btcc-modified-champFor the overall BTCC championship, this went down to this last race at West London. Olly Jefferies second place was enough to see off a late challenge from Colin Price to pick up the Cecil Schumacher Trophy as Elliott Harper finished third.
schumacher-btcc-pro-stock-champPro stock qualifying was headed up by the Schumacher trio of James Hart, Chris Gunter and Lee Price with Glenn Westwood pushing them hard. After three exciting finals with the positions changing several times James came out on top with Chris and Lee holding their grid positions to finish second and third. James also took home the BTCC Pro Stock Championship and the Robin Schumacher Trophy followed by Chris Gunter and Lee Price.

A fantastic weekend was had by all, topped off by an excellent raffle with goods supplied by KO Propo and Schumacher.
