Nuremberg 2010 – 1:1 Sand Scorcher!

Sitting in pride of place in the centre of the Tamiya stand was the full sized Sand Scorcher built by Bug Box, experts in VW restoration. Built at a reputed cost of 55,000 Euros, the replica has been built as close as is possible, and its pretty spot on, a stunning piece of work. The glovebox of the 1:1 Scorcher was later signed by Mr S Tamiya to put the finishing touch to what is without a doubt the most impressive full-sized vehicle on a stand at the show...and it's competition for this included a Brawn painted in the new Mercedes livery which was lurking on one of the die-cast model manufacturers stands.
