RACE NEWS - OFF-ROAD ELECTRIC

Hong Nor Success at the Stockholm Cup

stockholm-SC

Fredde Cederberg reports from the Stockholm Cup:

We raced at the new Stockholm Cup in three classes - 1:10 SC, 1:8 Electric and 1:8 Nitro. All my cars performed great during the day that started out wet
and muddy, but ended up nice and sunny. I did only one qualifier in SC and started 11th for the three leg finals. In the first main I took second but in leg two I was hit in the first corner and a ball end popped off. I lost almost a lap but recovered fast to third only seconds behind the second place. I had to win the last leg so I drove carefully on the first lap before passing the rest of the field, then cruising to victory.

1:10 SC A Final
1 Fredrick Cederberg - Hong Nor SCRT10
2 Mattias Trotte - Hong Nor SCRT10
3 Roger Olsson - Durango

In the 1:8 Electric class I TQ'd and won the first two legs - the NEXX8 is a great performing car and so easy to drive. In the first leg I had a hard fight with Xray driver Mats Angseryd, but I managed to win. In the second main I pulled away quickly and never looked back to take the first 1:8 Electric win in Sweden for Hong Nor. As a result of my two wins, I didn't have to race in the third leg.

1:8 Electric A Final
1 Fredrick Cederberg - Hong Nor NEXX8
2 Mats Angseryd - Xray
3 Mattias Trotte - Hong Nor NEXX8

stockholm-nitro

In 1:8 Nitro, I qualified second and directly to the A final but in the final I had some problems to get the feeling after driving electric the whole day. Around the first pit stop, I started to get the feeling back but unfortunately I was down to sixth place and already lapped by first and second place. I started to drive fast and decided not to give up and started to overtake the cars in front. Some minutes from the end, I got third place and kept this to the finish line.

1:8 Nitro A Final
1 Ronny Gutå - Associated
2 Henrik Lerneman - Kyosho
2 Fredrick Cederberg - Hong Nor X2-CR Pro
