The 1:8 Off-Road European Championships – Day 1

Tuesday 6th July - Day 1

Having arrived at the track Monday, we had a chance to check out the track early.

Overall the facilities looked wonderful and a vast improvement from what we had seen from the warm up race in April.

The track had been well prepared and just might not blow out like before. Having not attended the warm up Lee and myself were quite open eyed on what to expect, which was probably a good thing!!

Today we had two un-timed practice runs. Both Lee Martin and Elliot Boots ran in heat 4 and overall Elliot’s Mugen and Lee’s Losi ran well. We both selected Yellow compound tyres with a soft standard insert. Elliot favoured the JConcepts Crossbow and Lee the JConcepts Crowbar.

Tomorrow we see timed practice and we will test out the new JConcepts Punisher body shells and trim our tyre selection.
