Smith Stars - Round one of the 2010 BRCA 1:10 TC Nationals kicked off at Mendip and whilst Schumacher’s Chris Grainger continued where he left off in 2009 in the Modified class, it was Associated driver Zak Smith who came of age in Pro Stock to take his first ever National round win. Read our full report in the September issue.

Tamiya CC-01 Unimog – the latest addition to the CC-01 chassis range is this Mercedes Benz Unimog 406 Series U900. First shown at the annual Nuremberg Toy Fair in February, the multi-purpose truck body sits above Tamiya’s proven CC-01 off-road chassis. We handed our review sample over to Paul Constable who has been out of RC for a few years to see how things have changed, and what he thought of the kit.

Schumacher Cougar SV – the CAT SX 4WD buggy was eagerly awaited and once on the shelves of the shops, it became an instant hit and very popular amongst the club racing fraternity and higher. So when the Cougar SV 2WD was announced, it too had created massive interest with its design ideas and principles. With the team drivers highlighting the car’s ability at the highest level, we couldn’t wait to build up our review sample and see what it has to offer the racer.

Team Magic M8ER – with Team Magic, you always get something a little different. Their M1-B off-road nitro buggy had some radical design features that set it apart from the competition with the body on and off the chassis! The new electric powered M8ER is no different. For a start you get a very low-slung body shell that locates on the side guards to add great dirt protection. Inside, you find that the chassis is ready to run, save for batteries as well as interesting ideas when it comes to the chassis and suspension. Fast and Furious - Eden Park Raceway hosted the third round of this year’s BRCA 1:10 Off-Road National Championships on their multi-surface track located on the Kent/South-East London borders. Blessed with good weather over the two racing days and some revised track changes from previous years, the event is one of the standout weekends in the 1:10 off-road race calendar and 2010 was no different…

Green With Envy – Mendip and Wombwell hosted the first two rounds of this year’s National Championship in 1:8 on-road. Alongside our technical articles that support the on-road nitro class, Andy North, one of the UK’s top racers will be reporting from the Nationals with all the news and gossip from each round. In September’s issue, we bring you full reports from rounds one and two that saw wins for Serpent’s Mark Green.
