Ryan Maifield continues excellence, takes Modified Short Course with JConcepts.

Southern California is the hot-bed for R/C excitement, plush indoor race tracks and camaraderie.  OCRC Raceway in Huntington, Beach has set a new standard in R/C and for many years has held the annual Surf City Classic.  Normally reserved for a handful of professionals and locals alike, 2010 provided a new twist with a hefty bonus program that brought out some of the worlds finest racers from the United States.

JConcepts was well represented with many drivers racing for the glory in 2wd, 4wd, modified truck, Short Course and 1:8 electric.   Ryan Maifield and Steven Hartson continuously ran at the front of the pack all weekend while utilizing the popular JConcepts Bar Codes.  Holding TQ in 4wd modified for most the event Ryan chose the Gold Bar Codes on all four corners of his Associated B44 buggy.  TQing the modified Short Course class was too easy as the Green compound Bar Codes gripped the track like no other during all 3 qualifiers.

For the main events things got especially interesting with single, extended A-main events.  In the Short Course A-main, Ryan drove a consistent yet a playful race, having a little fun with the competition on his way to victory.   Crossing the finish line in all smiles, Ryan enjoyed another brilliant day in SCT.   With a drying track condition Ryan switched to Green Compound Double Dees for the A-main.  Teammate Tanner Denney running the same combination finished in the respected 3rd place position.  The combination of JConcepts Double Dees, Bar Codes, Rulux wheels and the Raptor body combined with the all new SC10 Factory Team proved to be too much all weekend.
