It has been a busy time for Associated’s JR Mitch and a very successful one too as he prepares for the 1:8 Off-Road World Championships in Thailand. JR first conquered the second round of the Super Cup Series held at Lake Park in Florida where he won 2WD Modified, 4WD Modified and 2WD Modified Short Course with his Reedy and LRP-powered Team Associated B4.1, B44.1 and SC10 respectively. The first round of the Florida State Series also took place at the same venue and highlighted JR’s versatility as he picked up his Associated RC8B and RC8T. JR first dominated Pro 1:8 Buggy and Pro 1:8 Truggy qualifying with his Reedy 121 VR-ST-powered buggy and truggy. He then went on to win both A finals whilst his team mate Jason Ruona grabbed the pole in the 1:8 Electric Buggy class with his Reedy and LRP-powered RC8Be before going on to win the A final. Finally, Halloween weekend saw the running of the annual JConcepts Bash and this attracted the best electric racers in Florida to the Winter Haven track. JR was driving the new Associated B44.1 with a Reedy LiPo, and LRP speed controller and motor to take pole position and a well-deserved victory.
