GB Modelsport has announced that top UK off-road racer Simon Willetts will be using the new Competition Heat 12V engine heater in 2011 on his engines. Simon used the engine heater for the first time at the CML Winter Series held at Frankley Model Car Club to take TQ and the win with his Orion-equipped Kyosho. On cold day where the ambient temperature struggled to get above 6-degrees Celsius, Simon said, “My Orion engine started first time, every time, all through the day and the engine was pretty much good to go as soon as it fired up.”
Simon was one of a number of drivers using the Competition Heat engine heater for the first time in the UK, joining the likes of US team drivers Adam Drake, Mike Truhe, Jesse Robbers and Jeremy Kortz.
