Xray NT1 2011 with World Champion Pedigree

Xray has released details of an updated version of its World and European Championship-winning NT1 called the 2011 edition. Martin Hudy, the Xray NT1 Project Designer had this to say. “To improve upon the car that is already the world’s best performing platform and the most successful nitro touring car in the market has been an extremely tough task. During the last few years we have continued year-by-year to introduce new changes and ideas to improve performance, reliability, and handling. For 2011 we focused on what we knew to be missing for a pedigree racing car like the NT1: a chassis designed to easily accommodate graphite reinforcing inserts or additional balancing weights (front and rear) and one that is easier to perform handling-improving set-up changes on. Here are some of the 2011 features:

CNC machined 3mm Swiss 7075 T6 chassis with machined 2.5mm graphite radio plate
Centralised 75cc fuel tank with hypertonic tank lid and internal stone-type filter
For ultra-competitive racers with an eye on weight savings, Xray will offer an optional graphite receiver brace in place of the standard radio box.
Centralised, low-mounted receiver battery pack is located below the fuel tank for easy access
Optional micro-size receiver battery pack allows fuel tank lowering by 3mm
Quick-set two-piece aluminum engine mount system with fixed engine position for easy engine installation and gear mesh adjustment
Adjustable three-shoe XCA (Xray Centrifugal Axial) clutch
Aluminum brake 7075 T6 hub with precision-pressed pins
High-grip Ferodo brake pads
The world’s smallest and lightest differentials allow super-low mounting, lowering the car’s C of G
