Round two of the 2011 BRCA 1:10 IC Nationals was held in glorious weather on the weekend of the 16-17 April at the Halifax track in Yorkshire. Unfortunately the team was short of Andrew Hastings who broke his leg the previous weekend due to mountain bike accident. Adam Catchpole continued his excellent start into the season after finishing second at the first round of the Championship at Cotswolds. With a new lap record and a new qualifying record, he claimed pole position for the 30-minute A final. At the start, he defended his first position and only dropped back to second during the first round of pit stops. When he regained the lead he never looked back and crossed the finishing line in first position. Backing up Adam was Chris Steele who finished a well deserved third overall and Neil Wallace who qualified for his first A final of the season with an excellent eighth place.
In the 220mm GT class, it was Peter Hastings who duly took the honours, making it a clean sweep for the Shepherd UK/DH Modelsport Team at this weekend. Shepherd driver Jason Fox finished on a a great fourth place.
