Lee Martin’s Perfect Score Secures 2011 Championship

The 4WD event of the BRCA 1:10 Off-Road Nationals round four from Kidderminster on Sunday saw beautiful weather for racing replacing the on-off rain the 2WD event had suffered from. The track was a more open layout this time and with the sun shining most the day,  the grip was up too.
Qualifying went the way of Lee Martin who was the epitome of fast, controlled driving with his Tamiya. Associated’s Paul Bradby tried hard, but didn’t quite have the consistency to nip the pole spot and would line up second ahead of the Schumacher of Simon Moss.
The finals were great races – for second place anyway. Lee checked out in all three legs to take comfortable wins and seal up the perfect meeting (again). The battle for second could have gone any one of five ways, but it was Simon that held his nerve best to finish runner-up, just ahead of Paul in third.
This result was enough to give Lee the 2011 BRCA 1:10 Off-Road 4WD National title – congratulations to Lee and all his sponsors. Even more amazing then clinching the championship with only four of the six rounds gone, but he has done it with a perfect score!

Racer will have a full report from Kidderminster in the magazine soon.
