Power Tune – Bearing Maintenance Oil

power-tune

Powers International caught up with Racer at the Nuremberg Toy Fair to show us their new product called Power Tune Bearing Maintenance Oil. It is a very low viscosity oil which when applied to bearings coats, the surface that leaves a dry film to help reduce friction and lower rolling resistance.
We conducted a test using a standard chassis fitted with new bearings. After running some laps we then removed the bearings and washed them out with degreaser.
A couple of spots of Power Tune is all that’s needed to be applied as it soaks into the inner races very easily, although rubber sealed bearings would benefit from having the seal removed before application.
We then ran the same amount of laps using the same chassis and found a significant decrease in lap times and also cooler running from the onboard electronics due to the reduced friction.
It is supplied in a 20ml aerosol can which is great size for keeping in your toolbox and is also supplied with a separate needle-style application nozzle for getting into hard to reach spots.
Powers International has provided us with five bottles to giveaway.
Simply e-mail your name, address and Power Tune in the subject line to competitions [at] rcracer.com to enter. This competition is o
