After taking the TQ spot for the buggy A final and qualifying second in the truggy A final, Ty Tessmann has become one of the few racers ever to win both of the big racing classes at the annual Dirt Nitro Challenge race in Phoenix, Arizona an event that kicks off the racing season in the USA.
Ty started off second in the truggy A final, keeping a controlled distance from the leader until a critical steering part broke on the leader’s truck. Ty then assumed the lead while second to fourth place battled hard for the remaining podium spots, allowing Ty to keep a safe gap all the way to the finish.

With a TQ in the buggy class, Ty was already off to a great start and although he was chased by up-and-coming stars and current World Champions, the challengers eventually faded away, leaving Ty with a monster lead with nearly 20 minutes left in the 60-minute race. Team mate Jesse Robbers drove a pre-production CR8 to second place and Ty ran an HB D8 Hara Edition buggy.
