With 197 participants during the season, the Bawü Cup is one of Germany’s biggest off-road racing series. The sixth and final round took place at Großheubach the 6-7 October that attracted only 80 drivers this time because of the bad weather forecast.
Ralf “Bombe” Dennenmoser dominated the event TQ’ing both the truggy and the buggy class as well as winning both semi finals and finals. In the truggy class he managed to do 11-minute pit stops, which gave him a big advantage over the other competitors. He won the 20-minute semi-final by three laps and also in the final he was three laps up. Unfortunately he had a small technical problem but as he was fast enough he crossed the finishing line one lap in front of the second placed driver. In the overall truggy standings he finished the season in first place with Manuel Rapp taking the runner-up spot also driving a Sonic engine.
The buggy final was a little bit closer, but “Bombe” managed to recover after a crash at the start fought his way back to the top. After 30-minutes of racing he saw the chequered flag in first position giving him the overall win of the 2013 season. His team mate Fabian Schneider finished in fourth position also using the Sonic V.21B engine.
“Bombe” had the following to say: “I’m really excited about the Sonic engines as they ran perfectly all season. Using the Sonic 2099 pipe in buggy and the 2069 in truggy, I had the right combination of speed and fuel consumption.”
