Maximus RC Raceway in York, Maine was the scene of the Durango Northeast Indoor Championship on 27-28 October. X Factory’s John Cravotta was among 155 entries which included several well-known national drivers. Practice started Saturday morning and a club race was held in the afternoon. Round one of qualifying ran Saturday evening, with Cravotta taking TQ in both stadium truck and 2WD short course.
“Traction was up Sunday morning for round two and I set TQ in stadium truck by over a lap,” Cravotta said. “The X-60 put in a flawless run. In short course, my SCX-60CF was great again and I took second in that round.” After all was said and done, John would start first in truck and second in SC
Cravotta led the truck final from wire to wire. Starting second in SC, John stayed there until encountering some lapped traffic where the leader got through and Cravotta was briefly held up, so John finished where he started, second.
In a post-race interview, Cravotta said, “Both trucks were just dialled. The new carbon fibre SCX-60CF was especially dialled Saturday evening as well as in the final, and the X- 60 was simply the fastest thing on the track. I can’t wait to get my X-60CF, the all-new carbon fibre stadium truck in a couple of weeks.”
