x-factory-uk-kidderminsterThe weekend of 13-14 April saw round one of the 2013 BRCA 1:10 Off-Road Nationals kick start the season at the ever popular track in Kidderminster. X-Factory UK had various team drivers in attendance and produced some great results in both classes over the weekend.
In 2WD, Darren Bloomfield set the overall TQ and took the first the A final win with his Vampire Racing-powered TLR 22. Coming home second overall in round one, then setting TQ overall in round two secured Darren’s position at the front of the grid for the finals, then with flag to flag wins in legs one and two, he wrapped up the overall victory with one leg still to spare. Darren used the popular SR1+ speed control in his cars, powered by Vampire 2013 spec LiPo batteries and the new Type AB+ range of brushless motors. Darren was also joined in the 2WD A final by X-Factory UK team driver Chris Rowcliffe who was racing a Centro C4.1 with JConcepts accessories such as the Finnisher body, Hi Clearance wing and other accessories were used. Chris was also powered by Vampire motors, speed controls and LiPos with both drivers using Ballistic Buggy foam inserts in their tyres.
The all new X-Factory X6 Cubed also made it’s first full competitive outdoor debut in the hands of Dan Greenwood, Rich Lowe and Dave Orbell as well as X-Factory UK’s own Darren Boyle. All cars again powered by Vampire electronics along with accessories by JConcepts, Lunsford, MIP, Team SR, Hiro Seiko and Exotek. Rich Lowe managed to get his car into fifth into the B final.
In the 4WD competition, no less than three X-Factory UK drivers made the A final. In eighth was Rich Lowe, running his JConcepts kitted out Team Associated B44.2, powered by Vampire electronics including the SR1+ speed control, 5400 70C saddle pack LiPOs and the new Type AB+ V2 6.5 motor. Ninth on the grid was the Vampire-powered Durango DEX410 of Paul Robinson with team mate Ellis Stafford in tenth, using the new V2 Type AB+ in a 6.5T wind. This meant Vampire powered cars took up five of the 20 A finals places over the weekend with five different drivers too.
