ams-po-buggyThe fourth Alabama Manufacturer’s Shootout, also known as AMS 4.0 was held in Cullman last weekend. AMS is always known to be a big race, and this year was no let-down with around 580 entries. The AKA team was well represented with the likes of Jared Tebo, Mark Pavidis, Ryan Lutz and many more. Pro Buggy qualifying was dominated by AKA with Tebo taking the first two rounds and Lutz grabbing the top spot in round three. Tebo started on pole of the 45-minute final with his pair of TQ runs followed by AKA team mates, Lutz in second, Pavidis fifth and the up and coming Dylan Gerard in 12th. Tebo let the TQ advantage slip away a few laps into the final, but he quickly regained his composure to get back into the lead pack with Lutz and Adam Drake. After 30 laps of battling the field started to spread out with Tebo out front and Lutz in tow. At the end of 45-minutes, Tebo would hold on for the win, Lutz finishing second, Dylan Gerard with a very respectable sixth place finish and Pavidis eighth. All four AKA drivers chose Soft Impacts, Red inserts and Evo wheels for the final.

ams-4wd-scWhen it comes to 4WD SC, Ryan Lutz is always in contention for the win. This held true all weekend where Lutz would put on a show for the masses. Ryan took top honours for all three rounds of qualifying and lead every lap in both A1 and A2 to take the overall win. AKA team mate, Pres Ilog, finished fourth overall. Lutz was running Soft Enduro 2 tyres with Wide Red Inserts and Ilog ran Super Soft Gridirons with Red inserts.
ams-open-truggyJonny Johnson made the trek from Arizona to compete at AMS. He was laying it down in Open truggy taking the TQ with a couple fast runs. In the 30-minute final Jonny was able to hold off Austin Hughes and Mike Santana from their charges for the lead. At the halfway point it was smooth sailing for Johnson as he walked away with the win, just a few seconds shy of lapping the field. Jonny ran Super Soft Evo Impacts, Red Truggy Inserts, and Evo Wheels for the main.
