The annual Fall Brawl at the Badlands Supercross RC Track in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina was held over the weekend of December 5-6th. Although Mother Nature decided Saturday wasn’t particularly a good race day with a torrential rain storm, the Badlands crew had the track ready for qualifying and racing early Sunday Morning. With the challenge of getting 200 racers through two rounds of qualifying and the mains, the fast paced day still provided some of the best 1:8 off-road racing on the east coast.

When the dust settled it was JConcepts driver Ryan Maifield taking the top spot in both of the 1:8 buggy and 1:8 truck pro classes. In Pro Truggy, JConcepts drivers Chris Pace and Brandon Melton also finished within the top five and proved to be highly competitive throughout the weekend. Ryan’s tyre of choice in the 1:8 truck class was the newly released Sevens truck tyre in blue compound, they provided the perfect touch for the icy wet track surface.

Pro Buggy was a one-two finish for JConcepts with Ryan driving his Associated RC8B on Double Dee tires and Barry Pettit with his Mugen Seiki MBX-6 in second on the new JConcepts Subcultures. Sportsman Buggy had two JConcepts equipped drivers finishing in the top five, with Todd Szymanski in third and Justin Norman in fourth. The day concluded just as the sun disappeared, finishing off one of the most enjoyable “Brawl” events in recent history.
