schumacher-mi5-leadSchumacher have announced the launch of the new Mi5 competition touring car. The all-new Mi5 features some brand new ideas for the platform with what Schumacher refer to as “revolutionary design features that enable the racer total flexibility for both carpet and asphalt tracks.”
To start with the Mi5 has an ultra low centre of gravity which helps aid corner speed. There is a radical vertical top deck system that aims to offer a responsive and nimble feel, yet is forgiving and consistent to drive. Schumacher have included their first geared differential for a touring car, a fully in-line mounted motor and servo, lightweight low centre of gravity carbon fibre wishbones, perfect Ackerman steering rack and micro caster pivot system. The Mi5 chassis is designed to offers excellent balance and poise, with an extremely wide window of set-up, enabling drivers of all levels to easily achieve the best results from the car.
Look out for a full review of the Mi5 as soon as we can get our hands on one. Meanwhile, check out Schumacher’s gallery of images below and a video too of Chris Grainger introducing the new car:
