brca-cotswold-modified-podiumXray made a fantastic start to the defence of their domestic touring titles as both Olly Jefferies and Zak Finlay took victory at round one of the BRCA National Championships hosted by the popular Cotswold club. Defending his super touring title, Olly Jefferies made a good start taking the first round of qualifying, and then went on to secure pole position for the A final ahead of Schumacher’s Elliott Harper and Colin Price. Next up making his national debut for Team Associated was Chris Grainger and Andy Moore put the new HB Pro5 fifth on the grid.
The first of the three leg A final saw a comfortable win for Olly Jefferies ahead of Colin Price after Elliott Harper crashed out on lap one. In the second leg Elliott made Olly work hard for the win, but the reigning champion held on to take the leg and the overall win. Leg three felt to Elliott giving him second overall as Colin completed the modified podium.
brca-cotswold-winning-carsIn stock it was all about Zak Finlay – the reigning stock champion looked untroubled as he took all five legs of qualifying and for good measure set a new Cotswold stock track record.
brca-cotswold-stock-podiumZak Finlay went on to win all three legs of the A final giving him a dream start to his 2015 title campaign. Behind him Chris Gunter and Ben Putt were the closest challengers, but both struggled in the finals and this allowed James Hart to come from sixth on the grid to take second overall.
