TLR03000-SCT-1Horizon Hobby launched two new Team Losi Racing vehicles at the 2013 Nuremberg Toy Fair. The Ten-SCTE 2.0 is TLR’s first 4WD competition short course truck kit and sees the SCTE given a thorough overhaul t make it lighter and faster. Available as a kit, the competition theme starts with new heavy duty diff casings, a new lowered further back motor position, revised battery tray that lowers the centre of gravity with he ability to place it in one of three positions. Carbon fibre shock towers support Team Losi Racing’s hard anodised big-bore shocks, complete with Ti-Ni coated low friction shock shafts are now included as standard along with the adjustable aluminium inner pivot blocks that were previously only a hop-up option part.

TLR03000-SCT-2Topping off the 2.0 is a TLR Max Flow SCT body that can be tuned to optimise airflow through and over the shell to minimise parachuting and unwanted airtime drag.The result of the updates and changes means the Ten-SCTE 2.0 is also now over 150g lighter than its predecessor, meaning that it can accelerate faster, change direction quicker and be more nimble without losing any of it’s durability and toughness. TLR04000-3-1The 8ight 3.0 1:8 off-road buggy at first may look very similar to the 2.0 models, but the new name indicates that there are many more changes under the skin. The material for the chassis is a little softer to increase flex, the wishbone material is stiffer, there is more droop on the suspension, the shocks are bigger at 16mm and they now have an improved Ti-CN shaft coating and tapered springs.

TLR04000-3-2The Gen III radio tray is now included as standard whilst the diff casings are now much stronger and for better flex, the centre driveshafts are doggones rather than CVD-type. Ensuring the 3.0 is durable, there are 5mm turnbuckles, whilst the whole aero package has been revised with a removable wickerbill rear wing section for increased downforce is matched to a new body with increased frontal area for more steering. Check out the video below featuring TLR’s Todd Hodge as he runs through the new buggy design and specification:
